Day 120 - Electrical Panel and More | School Bus Conversion

I took out the bus control panel that sits on the left side of the drivers seat. This contained tons of wires and fuses that are accessible from the outside and the buttons in the bus that control different things (like windshield wipers, lights and so on).

Here is is from the outside access door:

Here it is inside:

I also am removing the seat pedestal that holds the original seat. I will be replacing the seat with a better one.

I plan to completely rework this. I am also working on the plans for the dash. I am still not sure what I am going to do yet.

Update...... | School Bus Conversion

Not much has been done on Good News lately.

I have built a shelf in the rear storage area of the bus. I also installed the windows seals in the front and back around the "Good News" logo.

I am in the process of deciding what to do with the dash. I will either panel it or paint it. Or maybe...both.

I hope to get some work done on it tomorrow.

Day 119 - Wiring & Dash | School Bus Conversion

Today I ran the the RCA cable from the rear view camera to the front of the bus where the TV screen will be. I also ran power to the camera.

After all was in place I tested it and the camera seems to work well. It gives a full view of the back of the bus.

Next I started working on the dash. I will more then likely be covering the entire dash with wood paneling. More soon!

Day 118 - More Trim | School Bus Conversion

Today we really didn't get very much done on the bus.

We started by installing the kick panel under the kitchen cabinets.

This was archived by using a stained and varnished piece of 1x4 pine.

Next we installed some trim right by the fridge, cabinet and dinette.

Day 117 - Flooring Done & More! | School Bus Conversion

Today we finished the flooring. Here are the finishing touches.

After the flooring was done I worked on the box that will cover the wheel well by in the dinette.

After that I started on the vertical window trim in the master bedroom:

Lastly I went ahead and reattached the "Genesis" lettering to the grill:

After we were done for the day we cleaned out the bus bit and drove it down to the local gas station to fuel it up and just to take a test drive. It did GREAT!
