Video: Rebuilding the Bus We Lived In - 8 Years Later

In this third episode of our bus rebuild series, we’re finally digging into the real restoration work. We converted this bus back in 2009, sold it in 2018, and got it back this year — and eight years is a long time for a lot of change to happen. This bus carried our family once before, and now we’re restoring it back to the way it originally was… with a few upgrades to make it stronger for whatever comes next. In this video, we strip the original oak paneling (after a very thin first coat of Citristrip that absolutely did NOT work), carpet the bunk room walls and ceiling using 3M 90 adhesive, and install the new foam mattresses for the master bedroom and bunks. It’s messy, it’s chaotic, and honestly… it’s worse than we thought. But piece by piece, the bus is coming back to life.
