Video: Underwater Ruins Discovered Beneath Lake Superior

Today we explore the forgotten remains of an old wooden pier that once stood beside the massive Lower Harbor Ore Dock. Most people walk past this spot every day and never realize what’s lying just under the surface. We follow the century‑old pilings into the water, dive down to the submerged platforms, and uncover the notched beams and stacked supports that once held the pier together. These structures have been preserved by Superior’s cold water for decades — maybe even longer. After exploring the ruins, we swim out to the rock island offshore — a solid chunk of ancient bedrock that’s been here for over a billion years. Isaiah, Seth, and Elisha take the leap from the top, and we finish the dive with a quiet swim around the island’s underwater cliffs and vegetation. If you enjoy underwater exploration, hidden history, freediving, or Lake Superior adventures, this one’s for you. Thanks for watching — Lake Superior always has more stories to tell.
