Day 49 - Electrical Work & Pics | School Bus Conversion

First we went to Lowe's to get a few supplies.

  • 3 More Outlet Boxes $0.99 ea.
  • 5' x 12' roll of carpet for under the master bed. (Normal Price $50.00. We offered them $12.50 and they accepted it.)
  • Roll of Reflectix Aluminum Heat Transfer Insulation for the front window to prevent heat coming in while the bus is parked. $50 for a large roll.

Today we did more electrical. This process takes a while. The most important thing to do at this stage is make sure every wire you want to run gets ran. If you forget a wire and panel the walls then it makes it much harder to go back and run another wire.

We had strings ran in our walls so that we could pull the wire anywhere we wanted along each side of the bus. Each time we used a string to pull a wire through we tied another string to it so we can always pull more through if we need to.

He are some pics of what we have don so far.

This is kind of a mess right now but it will be organized soon:

The middle outlet below is to power the LCD TV / DVD Combo. The other outlet will power what ever we need it for.

Here is a view behind the wall.

Here is one that is in the kitchen.

Here is the back:

Here is the other kitchen outlet.

All the wires that need to go around to the other side of the bus go all the way to the front of the master bed frame and go across the front and then head back down the other side.

This is coming out of the passenger side wall.

This is the driver side wall:

We also cut a piece of Reflectix for the front window. This should really cut down on a lot of heat.

Hope to have more done tomorrow.
