Today I learned a valuable lesson. Mortar has a shelf life.
As you can read in the blog yesterday, I had laid all the tile with mortar I had left over from a previous job some months back. Today, I started to put the grout down and I realized that the tiles were popping lose. I about died. The bright side was that all the tile came up easy because the mortar did not work how it was supposed to. So I had to pull up all the tile, scrape all the mortar off the hardy backer board mix up a new batch of fresh mortar and relay the tile.
It was a fun day.
